We’re building a resource to help late teens and young adults better understand the 20 most common mental health disorders—conditions that affect millions but are often misunderstood or overlooked. Through clear, relatable explanations, our goal is to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and empower young people to recognize when they or someone they care about might need support. To make taking action easier, we’re also launching an AI-powered local search engine that helps users quickly find qualified mental health professionals nearby. Whether you're looking for a therapist, counselor, psychiatrist, or support group, our platform will connect you to the right help when it matters most.
The local search engine tool powered by AI is a RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), a technique used in AI to improve the accuracy and relevance of responses generated by large language models (LLMs). It works by combining the generative capabilities of LLMs with information retrieval, allowing the model to access and incorporate external data sources when generating text - in this case a manual list of local mental health professional - Providers are paying to be on the list. However, we do a standard vetting by checking their NPI ( publically available).
Think of this as an enhance Google search better suited to guide you to a mental health provider based on your specific situation.
